In his works, he manages to combine contemporary surrealism with the influences of Renaissance art, giving life to mysterious and enigmatic characters, caught in contemplative states or frozen in reality. These characters are never reproductions of existing beings, but are detailed constructions based on his imagination. Some examples of this are: "Drummer with Cat”, "Together", "Portrait of a Girl" or "The Muse". As far as this particular work is concerned, it focuses on the depiction of two characters, a couple who have just returned from fishing. To the left of the composition is the female figure, dressed in a blend of green and blue outfits, with a dark-coloured bonnet on her head. On her back, she carries a wicker basket, within which there is a fish she has just caught. To the right of the composition, beside her, is the male figure, dressed in red clothing, who also has a fish caught in his wicker basket, and in his other hand he holds a fishing rod, with another fish, smaller in size, hooked on it.
