Depending on the time when the prayer takes place, they are fajr, from dawn until a little before sunrise, dhuhr from midday until afternoon, asr from late afternoon until a little before sunset begins, maghrib, after sunset and until the day ends, and isha’a, until midnight. These prayers must be said by believers while dressed appropriately and with their face turned towards Mecca. In mosques, the prayer area is strictly demarcated, sacralised, and a special rug called saggāda is typically used for this purpose.
