The war inspiration motifs in the rugs appeared after the Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan in 1977; these usually illustrate the Afghan daily life, respectively animals, scenes from the Koran but also tanks, helicopters, machine guns and even ballistic missiles. This rug is very special as it shows the two cemeteries, which were obviously the result of the occupation war. These rugs are rare and, as such, extremely looked for by collectors.
