AUCTION POSTPONED
Artmark presents a historic Gold & Numismatic Auction On September 30th, Artmark hosts one of its most valuable auctions in recent years, featuring post-war gold bars from the 1950s — stamped, numbered, and accompanied by original assay certificates — alongside a remarkable collection of 19th–20th century gold coins issued by the world’s most prestigious mints. Organized in partnership with Maison Maitre Ortica & Associés (Lyon, France), the collection is securely held in a Romanian bank vault and will be released to buyers upon settlement. With its scale and rarity, this auction stands as a unique opportunity for both investors and collectors to acquire timeless assets: solid gold. The auction lists, on the occasion of the opening of Mrs. N.C.'s estate, a large number of historical gold ingots (immediately after the war, starting in the 1950s), marked, numbered and accompanied by old assay reports, produced or issued by gold foundries and gold laboratories of wide reputation, together with conservation, mostly 19th-20th century issues, coming from the most famous mints in the world — all concretizing, in a significant volume and in a spectacular manner, an ancestral form of hoarding, from time immemorial: solid gold. Given the high value of the lots and the security measures required for their handling, several special rules will apply: 1. The auction is co-organized with Maison Maitre Ortica & Associés, Lyon, France, which, on behalf of the consignor’s family. 2. All lots are currently stored in a Romanian bank vault and will not be physically exhibited prior to the auction. The photographs, of necessarily limited quality, were taken in the context of bank storage. The numbers shown in the images refer only to storage arrangements and not to the lot order. The order of sale is that indicated in the official auction catalogue. 3. Winning bids, plus Artmark’s standard buyer’s premium, must be paid strictly within 7 days, 4. Lots will be released by the depositary bank and may be collected from Artmark headquarters within 3 working days of confirmation of full payment in accordance with the invoices.
