Volumul face parte din prima ediţie de "Opere complete" editată de editura Socec. Primele şase volume au apărut în 1875, iar volumul "Poesii - Legende nouă şi Ostaşii noştri" este al treilea volum de poezie şi ultimul, al nouălea, din această ediţie a Operelor complete. Dedicaţie a autorului "Domnului Olănescu Constantinopol", cu semnătura olografă a lui Vasile Alecsandri, datată 1881. Stampilă de posesie "Biblioteca personală a prof. Albu Ion", pe pg. 95. Legătura este originală şi realizată jumătate piele grena şi hârtie marmorată, pe carton, cu titlul în aur, pe cotor.
