The artwork was part of the retrospective exhibition "Camil Ressu. Artist al Poporului", NAtional Museum of Art of Romania, 28of January - 28th of February 1955, Dallesand is mentioned in the exhibition catalogue at cat. 73. The artwork was part of the retrospective exhibition "Camil Ressu", National Museum of Art of Romania, 1981-1982 and is reproduced in the catalogue at cat. 117, page 80, respective page 163.
PROVENANCE
Sabina Florian's (1907-2003) collection, painter Jean Negulescu's sister, Camil Ressu's student during 1939-1945; Gen. Constantin Doncea's Collection. Constantin Doncea (1904-1973) was an acting member of the Central Committee of the Romanian Labour Party (1948-1958), held functions in the mayor's office in Bucharest (nov. 1947 to february 1948), vice-minister in Public Works Office (1948 and 1950), and between 1956 and 1957 was a Finance Minister in Chivu Stoica's Cabinet.
