For the artist Ciucurencu, the post-war period is equivalent to a reattainment of his artistic freedom, evincing, upon returning to the picture rail, genuine turmoil regarding the mastery of the canvas, as well as approached themes. Along with a prolific exhibition activity, the artist also manifests relentless interest in supporting Romanian art, starting from a perseverant activity among the guild of artists within the Trade Union of Beaux Arts, the "Flacăra" Group, and the Official Salon. His return to the picture rails, eulogized by critics and art lovers, would feature a rich repertoire of senior portraits, illustrative compositions, indoor scenes, still lifes and landscapes, the latter being increasingly prominent. Captured at the outskirts of Bucharest, illustrating slums and factories, and also at Cozieni, Breaza, Căciulați or Tulcea, his landscapes become creative testimonies, created around the environment. Having a propensity for the construction of form, the artist treated the landscapes in tiered planes, suggesting depth by means of simplified colour schemes, along with tonal variations, which define the planes. Approaching this constructional procedure, in which the object is subordinated to the colour, his painting follows a new path, that of the impression, where the colour scheme is the one that visually dominates the entire visual field.
