A representative of the Modernist era, in the spirit of which he manifested and "a colourist of a different nature", as art collector Zambaccian described him in his writings, artist Ciucurencu would become the creator of a work inclined towards intensity. With the premises founded on the understanding of the pictorial truth, which was acquired since his student years, throughout his creation the artist would follow three fundamental means of expression: line, colour and value. Whether we talk about landscapes, still life paintings, portraits, social theme or flower compositions, at the same time with a strict reduction of external details, the artist pays great attention to the material form, hence reality becoming one of his starting points, and remaining, at the same time, a direct reference point. Captured in close proximity to reality, floral compositions would often be among his favourite subject matters. Treated "alla prima", in soaring paintbrush strokes, along with pictorial syntheses and colour enhancements, his flower compositions would testify the modern creative evolution, where the vividness and brightness of the palette prevail.
