Toma Vintilescu (Jan 20, 1856 - Sept 5, 1918) was born in Ploiești. He had 4 children: Nicolae, Alexandru Aurel, Vintilă and Gheorghe. He was a student of the painter Gheorghe Tattarescu. He had a workshop in the city (as noted in “Hronic Prahovean” by Ruxandra Ionescu). Iosif Iser, who was his student, frequented his workshop. He painted or restored: St. Nicholas Church in Popești, Valea Dulce, Prahova county (documented according to the inscription in 1862); St. Voievozi Mihail and Gavril Church - 1897 (Church by the lake), Câmpina, St. Voievozi and St. Friday Church in Edera.
