Desirée Sterian se căsătorea cu pictorul Iosif Iser în februarie 1914, aflându-se în cercul artistic intim al pictorului. Expunea pentru întâia oară alături de Ludovic Bassarab și viitorul soț în anul 1913, perioadă în care încă era elevă a acestuia.
