Fotograful Franz Mandy (1848-1910), patronul unui atelier fotografic la București care obținuse statutul de Furnizor al Casei Regale, imortaliza într-o dublă ipostază un ofițer al armatei române îmbrăcat în uniformă, cu sabie și revolver. Cele două fotografii sunt înrămate într-o ramă de epocă din alamă, pentru birou, decorată la mijlocul fiecărei laturi cu flori de trandafir.
