"There was no royal meal, whenever the Sovereigns came to Iași, not to be served by Launay. The first time when King Charles and Queen Elizabeth come to Iași, after the proclamation of the Kingdom, the banquets are served by the Launay house. During a banquet, the elder Launay is presented to the King, who, with his own hand, hung on his chest the first class Bene Merenti decoration; and after the departure of the Sovereigns from Iași, Launay received from the King a splendid gold watch with chain, and his wife from the Queen a beautiful medallion with fine pearls" - Rudolf Sutu, 'Iași de odinioară' ('Former Iași'), Vol. II, 1928
