Alexandru Măciucă vorbea despre o ‘‘tehnică a insolitării’’ specifică artistului, ‘‘folosirea mijloacelor curente într-un mod mai puțin obișnuit sau chiar arbitrar’’. Identificată cu precădere în peisajele de la Balcic, aceasta consta în apropierea planului îndepărtat, de obicei golful prin care se întrezărea marea. Iorgulescu-Yor deconstruiește conștient, după o formulă proprie, modul de redare a spațiului, ‘‘stabilind noi repere gravitaționale’’.
