The photograph includes the autograph signature of the king at the bottom right, made with black ink. Below it is the autograph signature of the photographer Franz Mandy. On the verso, one can read a lengthy autograph note, dated August 24, 1917, Iași, with the following content: "Offered to me by HM King Ferdinand, his own motto, on the evening of the Christmas tree ceremony at the Royal Palace in Iași in the refuge year 1917. Const. Smântânescu, Head of Security of the Royal Headquarters in Iași". The item is framed in a wooden frame decorated with stylized vegetal elements made of patinated plaster and brass. In the upper central part is the king's cipher surmounted by the royal crown.
