"The first law code of Wallachia, issued by the ruler Ioan Gheorghe Caragea (1812-1818). The code was worked on by "two boiers with knowledge and practice of the laws": Anastasie Hristopol and Nestor Craiovescu. The sources used are mentioned in the promulgation decree, as being "gathered from imperial laws and from the legal code and from the customs of the land that have been followed up to now". Among the aspects of life regulated by this code are murder, divided into "premeditated" (punished by the death penalty) and "unplanned", theft, forgery etc. It was applied until 1865.
