Alma Redlinger's (born Polak) relationship with art was intermediated even by her aunt, lawyer Fany Leauny, who introduced her to the world of art albums brought from her abroad journeys. However, Alma Redlinger was to interact, at least tangentially, with other types of artistic manifestations. As a child, she used to stage theater shows with her sisters (Iulia and Nectaria) for the neighborhood kids. In painting, a significant lineage of her creation is represented by still lifes. The preoccupation with the study of the object will never leave the artist. Looking back at her works, we can spot elements of Cubist construction - the pipe, the glasses, the book; but also coffee cans, cameras, family photos, glasses, and vases. As revealed also by the presented work, Alma Redlinger paid special attention to highlighting the transparency of vessels and reflecting light. Her colors, lines and strokes are carefully related, regardless of the compositional structure. The transparency of the glass allows the play of matter, so that we distinguish the fine line and the suggestion of water.
