Sorin Ilfoveanu's chromatic attracts us thanks to the warm tones, reminding us of the natural colours as they are found in nature, drawn from types of earth, roots and plants. The background surrounding the character, of a golden-yellow ochre colour, gives the painting timelessness, covering it in an endless mystical aura. The compositions are logically built and the shapes are strongly simplified, in order to obtain that personal plastic eloquence. Shapes are brought to their primary contours, geometrically schemed, which allows the artist to use bold colours and harmonies, giving the work an emotional expression. The figures are moulded following traditional methods, eliminating shadows completely. Another characteristic that is typical for the works of Sorin Ilfoveanu is the repetition of the theme, leading to the creation of artistic cycles, which gradually develop and amplify. By repeating a particular theme, its endless elasticity is emphasised. The characters, freed from their biological condition, remind us of the ascetics of times past. Their intense glance is fixed on a single frontal point, which actually indicates an introspective look, a reflection over one's own conscience.
