The early 20s represented for Șirato the actual breakthrough in pictorial work. A representative of the second decade, but also a ruthless critic of Romanian art, Șirato became a painter in the true sense of the word at the same time with his first participations in the most important exhibitions organised by "Arta Română" (the painter's debut in the Association took place in 1921). Therefore, after 1921, Șirato not only resumes oil painting, but he also manages to acquire a theme of a certain resonance during those times - the traditional universe, bearing the national specific. From the peasant's figure and living environment, to local particularities, to truly ethnographic pursuits, the painter would create, in the first half of the 1920s, a cycle that is meant to represent his aesthetic pursuits in the field developed by the idea of specificity - here, one can find a common frame for the creation of Ion Theodorescu-Sion, Camil Ressu or Ștefan Dimitrescu. As far as still life is concerned, one can easily identify the traditional object prevailing within the entire creation from the early Interbellum, not just in Șirato's case. Rustic art and culture represented, even before the "Sămănătorism" artistic movement, a core point of Romanian identity, and after the Great Union, their meaning was brought back to life. However, the monumentality of the current work is not marked only by the specificity of the objects, but also by the plastic manner of conceiving the composition. The shape has priority, and the linear, constructivist rhythm, is harmonised by a dim, even stern chromatic palette, charmed by the cool and warm compliance.
