Revealing a real passion for figurative art, at the heart of which he will place man and his relationship with the universe, Sabin Bălașa's paintings are crossed by myths and secrets. He will start his artistic path around an abstract surrealism, which will be assimilated in the course of a figurative mythical order. Endowed with a rare power of invention and transfiguration, the artist will depict a fantastic world, populated by imaginary beings and animals, often resized, features that will give his compositions monumental features. The universe, the place where he chooses to place the actions of his compositions, will be covered in an infinite blue, wrapping in symbols themes such as: peace, youth, motherhood, love, life and death. The feminine character, the ancestral goddess, Mother of all things seen and unseen, is captured during an initiating journey on a legendary land. The celestial animal, a symbol of purity, is the guardian who accompanies the character during her journey towards self-discovery and connection with the universe. Hence, the imaginary animal becomes a symbol of the unconscious who guides us, humans. We think and react, we feel and have premonitions without having a logical and concrete source at all times. Apparently fantastic and fruit of a vivid imagination, his works are actually great topics of the present day, of the contemporary society, which finds itself in an acute identity crisis. The daily life algorithm distances us more and more from our astral origin and from the deep level of consciousness. His paintings are about man's penetration of the cosmic space, about the human subconscious and our connection to the ancestral genetic heritage, about conveying a campaigning message of peace in an era of conflicts and mass genocides.
