141. Femme en robe vénitienne

1951, Vânjuleț

Estimate:
EUR 4.000 - 6.000
Sold
EUR 4.750

acrylic on canvas, 46 x 33 cm, 46 × 33 cm, signed bottom right, with green, "Mazilu"

For Mazilu's anthropomorphic characters, notably the female ones, the hair is a balance-adjusting variable; a head that is bent on one side asks for a compensatory rendering of hair, but the plastic potential of the hair is limited, and therefore the artist puts it through different metamorphoses: veils, caps or simply abstract forms. Meanwhile, fragile or unstable objects, such as an egg or a pear, bestows a state of concentration upon the character holding them.

For clarifications regarding the bidding procedure, hammer price costs, guarantee, payment, and collection terms for the winning lot, we recommend carefully reading/re-reading the Bidding Regulations.
