For Sabin Bălașa, the cosmic space is the source of everything, and the one which gives us "the feeling of eternity". His works take the shape of a fairytale narrative, exploring myths, legends, the national folklore from the painter's creations, as well as an initiation ritual inviting us to access our "inner eye" and to connect to the Cosmos. The characters, whether human or animal, come from a distant, ancestral past, and live inside each and every one of us through the feminine and masculine archetypes which we manifest. Youth is the link to harmony and the continuity of creation. The characters have vigour, are full of life, sensual and energetic, captured during a cosmic flight (initiation ritual). His feminine characters can be considered Mothers, Goddesses, Muses, supporting "the harmony of the light". Invertebrate, afloat, young and sensual, they originate from the archetypal memory of an ancient world, populated by these flawless beings. Nudity is freed from the chains and stigmatization of contemporary times, and is seen from an original, natural perspective.
