Among the most successful achievements of the artist Ressu since the ‘20s would be in the field of nudes, a genre that becomes more and more numerous in representation. Followed with coherence and steadfastness, the feminine beauty ideal is fully defined in his work of art, the nude becoming a direct means of expression. Favouring vigorous forms, the artist would often overcome static attitudes, seeking to reproduce, in addition to the arabesques of silhouettes and firm contours, the latent dynamics of the human body, captured in graceful movements.
