The volume contains numerous writings and comments written by the literary critic Șerban Cioculescu, who was interested in the volume and who published a critical review of the book. As a reply, Constantin Noica sent him a long letter, dated 12 August 1944 and hand signed, in which he debated Cioculescu's criticised work. At that time Noica was imprisoned in the camp of Timișul de Jos, accused of adherence and sympathy to the extreme right movement represented in previous years by the Garda de Fier. In camp in Timișul de Jos also held American aviators captured on missions over Romanian territory during World War II. The letter is kept in the original envelope.
