Poporanism was a traditionalist movement, along with Semanagerism, which criticized the modernization of Romanian society based on a Western model because, traditionalist ideologues believed, modernization destroyed the genuine world of the Romanian village. The main inspirer of Poporanism was the writer and literary critic Constantin Stere who launched this movement in 1906, in the pages of the literary magazine "Viața Românească" ("Romanian Life") from Iași. Writer Ion Agârbiceanu (1882-1963) was also a follower of these traditionalist currents in literature, especially of Semanagerism. This manuscript is an article on Poporanism as a literary and political movement. It is hand signed and the pages are written in cursive, with small interventions on the text by the author in black ink. The item is in a very good state of preservation.
