Even though he left the Junimea literary society of which he was part in his youth, Gheorghe Panu (1848-1910) remains to this day one of the most important memorialists of this cultural enterprise. He left us in the pages of this work genuine testimonies on the atmosphere of spiritual emulation within the gathering patronized by Titu Maiorescu and on some of the leading personalities of Romanian culture, such as Eminescu, Negruzzi, Creangă or A.D. Xenopol. The copy is part of the first edition.
