Piscina hotelului Lido din București, inaugurată în 1930, a făcut senzație în epocă deoarece dispunea de un sistem modern care producea valuri iar iluminatul era asigurat de becuri încastrate în pereții piscinei. În zilele de vară piscina se umplea rapid de bucureșteni dornici de răcoare.
