Gerhard Schliepstein (1886-1963), remarcabil sculptor german a colaborat cu firma Rosenthal în perioada 1925-1937, când acesta a realizat numeroase sculpuri figurative şi animaliere. Remarcabilă a fost seria pieselor albe executate în perioada 1928-1931 în care se încadrează şi lucrarea "Cal cambrat", cu numărul de model K754, inscripționat pe bază.
