Nae Goage, well-known in the local community of Câmpina, was the main assistant to the painter Nicolae Grigorescu whom he supported for a long period of time in preparing canvases and colors. He made frames for paintings (so-called "Grigorescu" frames), carried his easel for landscape painting, accompanied him to Bucharest on the occasion of exhibitions. A constant presence beside the painter, Goage was also a talented woodworker. He created numerous models of road-side crosses, chests, and everyday objects, carved in wood. Recently, in Câmpina, his granddaughter published an album dedicated to her grandfather in which such objects preserved in the family are reproduced.
