We start the last month of the year by heading towards a place where we will discover a gift for the soul. We invite you to browse through this special selection, where you will find remarkable examples of icon painting. Among these, icons signed or attributed to famous painters can be found, such as Pavel Zamfir, Ioan Pop from Făgăraș, Matei Purcariu known as Țâmforea, or Constantin Boghină. Also, we find representative icons for the painting practiced in the Romanian Territories, created during the rulerships of Ieremia Movilă, Alexandru Lăpușneanu, or Constantin Brâncoveanu. The selection is crowned by the presence of icons created by the famous school from Căldărușani, alongside representative examples for the Greek and Russian painting schools. Carrying grace, icons or sacred art pieces represent collectible gifts for the Christmas celebration, reminding us of the perpetual search and embodiment of the divine.
