On the cup in the shape of a cone trunk there are three deer in their natural environment, inside oval medallions with lambrequin. The cylindrical foot has two flattened knots decorated with baroque motifs. The foot comes from another piece and can be stylistically dated in the first half of the 19th century. The circular base, raised by a step, is not original; similar in decoration to the foot, it was probably added with it.
The semi-crowned goblet lid has a wide rim and a protuberance in the middle. The lid is surmounted by the figure of a Roman legionary (in ronde-bosse), placed on a cylindrical pedestal surrounded by a row of leaves cut and reserved in silver. Stylistically, the lid belongs to an era later than the date of the goblet.
The body of the goblet, marked with the silverware of silversmith Paulus Roth (1646-1689) from Brașov, can be dated stylistically between 1675-1689 and follows the formal and decorative patterns often used by Transylvanian craftsmen.
The lid of the goblet (unmarked) can be dated stylistically between 1685 and 1715, given the hammered decoration with flowers, leaves and bunches of fruit, as well as, above all, the ronde-bosse figure of the Romanian legionary. The three-dimensional decoration of cup lids/ goblets/ glasses s was not practiced in Transylvania before the goldsmith Sebastian Hann of Sibiu (1675-1712). The foot of the goblet (unmarked), can be dated in the first half of the 18th century
