A similar work is published in "The Musat Collection - A Spiritual Geography of Transylvanian Icons on Glass", by Ana Dumitran, Bucharest, 2018, fig. 64, p. 64.
In the central shot, Virgin Mary is seen looking bitterly at the reason for her sadness: Jesus crucified on the cross, small dimensions. She wears a richly decorated cloth, a sign of the mourning in her soul. Next to the Crucifixion cross appear the symbol of the Church and two archangels, on clouds, who carry a phylactery with the text Rejoice God's Mother. The earth is depicted by unconventionally coloured horizontal colour bands. The icon is dated, lower-right in white "1876". (M.B.)
