Modelul reproduce o caravelă tipică secolului XVI. Realizată din lemn, probabil în spațiul german, macheta păstrează proporțiile corpului vasului, dar velatura combină velele latine cu cele grecești. Pe velatură sunt reproduse variante ale unor blazoane autentice (blazonul Austriei în perioada 1934-1938, un blazon papal), dar și simboluri heraldice imaginare.
