The copy is part of the first edition of this anthology of the poetry of Iancu Văcărescu (1792-1863) curated by the 1848 revolutionaire Ion Voinescu II and published at the time of the revolution as a symbol of the value of the fledgling national literature. Even if the literary value itself is not on the first place, the work is important because of the author's role as a pioneer in Romanian literature. The binding is vintage. Presents an ex-libris stamp "Biblioteca C.C. P.M.R." ("Library C.C. P.M.R.") which attests that at some point the volume was part of this library before it was closed.
