The volume was edited by the Romanian Communist Party's newspaper "Scânteia", which appeared legally after 23 August 1944 and which also briefly published communist propaganda papers. The copy comes from the library of Sașa Pană, avant-garde poet, editor and publicist, in addition to his profession as a military doctor. An illegal member of the PCR, expelled from the army because of his literary activity rather than because of suspicions of belonging to the communist movement, he was appointed to the first editorial team of the newspaper "Scânteia" immediately after August 23, alongside Silviu Brucan, a future diplomat, Radu Bogdan, a future art historian, also an illegalist, and Miron Constantinescu.
