The diplomat Constantin Nanu (1859-1948) was appointed to several diplomatic missions in Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and held important positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including that of minister. His diplomatic passport contains numerous handwritten signatures of Romanian diplomats and stamps of the border authorities of the countries where he was posted. The correspondence is represented by an encrypted and deciphered telegram from January 1918 and the handwritten letter by Ion I.C. Brătianu refers to work-related matters. The photograph shows Constantin Nanu as a young man and is taken by the Krziwanek photo studio, Vienna.
