The notebook contains several poems and numerous diary entries, all written between June 1899 and August 1902, in pencil and black and blue ink, double-sided. The pages are not numbered and among them are interspersed stanzas dated 1949, which indicates the author's late rereading and interventions. On the last page appears the mention, also handwritten: "I thought of you for 5 years and wrote you in 5 days! I loved you for 5 years and I got sick of you in 5 days!". The notebook retains the original covers of the Socec publishing house in Bucharest from the end of the 19th century.
