The pieces represent the first illustrated postcards published in Romania, in 1894, with reference to the fourth edition of the collaborators' exhibition held in September of the same year. Coloured in the national colours, red and yellow, the specimens are very rare. The female character on the left is the wife of writer Ion Luca Caragiale, Alexandrina Burelly, drawn by Constantin Jiquidi, father of the famous painter Aurel Jiquidi.
