Szabó András approaches in his works the role and situation of the individual in the contemporary society, "a society that I consider hyperreal". Graphic works scratched on the surface of a plastic material refer to a hyperreal world, embedded in hi-tech technologies. The work was part of the personal exhibition "Cyberstar" in 2007. The elements taken from the real world are integrated in the black and white graphic structures which remind of the computer games, the viewer is presented with a series of static virtual images that they can step into with their mind. The boundary between the real and virtual worlds is becoming increasingly blurred, with the virtual taking on real meaning and marking a new beginning. Real/Fantastic, Organic/Anorganic, White/Black, Tradition/Innovation, Noise/Silence are concepts manipulated in Szabó András" works, leading to the creation of antagonistic structures and situations.
