A representative of the 20th century, Hans Mattis Teutsch starts being noted in the artistic area in 1907, when he participated in the Budapest National Salon. A student of the Public Vocational School of Woodworking and Stone Masonry from Brașov (1897-1901), he was a fervent practitioner of sculpture in his first period of creation. During the same period, he also attended the workshop of Friderich Miess (1854-1935), as well as that of Arthur Coulin (1869-1912). He later attended the classes of the Royal National School of Arts and Trade in Budapest (1901-1902), as well as those of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in München (1902–1905) , where he studied sculpture with professors Wilhelm von Rümann (1850-1906) and Balthasar Schmitt (1858-1942). He lived in Paris between 1905 and 1908, where he completed free studies in arts.
