In 1544, German cartographer Sebastian Münster (1488-1552) published his most important work, "Cosmographia", which ensured his rise to fame and which was edited in various editions. This specimen is part of the version printed in Basel by typographer Sebastian Henricpetri (1546-1627) in 1588.
