The Gospel was printed under the patronage and with the blessing of clergyman Vasile Moga, Orthodox Bishop of Sibiu between 1811 and 1845. In 1860, a gold-plated silver lock was added to it. The main cover is decorated with the images of the four Evangelists and in the centre there is the scene of the Resurrection of Christ, which has a counter-pendant on the secondary cover, with the Crucifixion scene. At the base of the secondary cover's lock, there is an ensign executed by incision, containing the locking date, as well the commissioner's initials. The specimen presents signs of time deterioration. The borders are golden.
