After signing with Real Madrid for 46 million euros, sales of shirts with his name broke all records on the first day. Ronaldo was part of the Galactic era at Real Madrid, alongside Zinedine Zidane, Luís Figo, Roberto Carlos and David Beckham. Known as "El Fenomeno" or "R9", Ronaldo Nazario was a forward who inspired a host of athletes, giving a new interpretation to the striker position. He was named FIFA World Player of the Year three times and won the Ballon d'Or twice.
