The funds raised from the sale of this charitable lot will be allocated to the social program "Help a mother rise again!", run by the Queen Maria Social Innovations Foundation.

In the summer of 1923, the "Cultural and Sports Association CFR" was born, today's Rapid. On June 25, 1923, the workers (known at that time as "hammerers") from the Griviţa Workshops met at the primary school in the neighborhood and signed the birth certificate of the CFR Bucharest team. After the war, in 1950 (when the Federation copied the Soviet system), the team changed its name to Locomotiva Bucharest, which it kept for eight years. In the summer of 1958, the team (this time definitely) changed its name, reverting to Rapid, which it also wore between 1936 and 1944. FC Rapid holds three championship titles in Romania, 14 times runner-up in Romania, 13 Cups of Romania, four Supercups of Romania, and is also the first Romanian team to reach a final in a European inter-club competition (Central European Cup). Also, FC Rapid reached the UEFA Cup quarterfinals in 2005-2006. The rich record of the football club is also completed by a series of other national awards and international match participation.
