Estimate:
EUR 250 - 450

cromolitografie, 44 x 33.5 cm, signed lower right, under frame, in pencil, "Dali"; numbered lower left, in pencil, "115/350"; publisher's stamp, lower left, "G. Dali"

The oil version of the work is displayed at the Art Museum in Basel, Switzerland. Made in 1937, the work precedes the artist's exile in America (1940-1948) and refers to the socio-political context Spain was in at that time. The work also becomes representative for the artist's theoretical beliefs, based on the psychoanalysis phenomenon proposed by Freud. We can notice that from here derives the creativeness of the sculptural work "Venus à la girafe", which combines the main elements of the base work - the anthropomorphic figure and the division proposed by the insertion of drawers.
