Ștefan Burcuș (1870 - 1928) graduated from the Paris Academy of Fine Arts, after which he returned to his country and established himself as a supporter of the Neo-Romanian style in architecture. The medal was received as a sign of recognition of his merits and had the value of an academic award obtained during his studies.
