The Dutch cartographer and publisher Johannes Janssonius (1588-1664) published his atlas "Orbis Terrarum" in Amsterdam, a work that enjoyed particular fame. The continents that dominate the central plan are flanked by major climate zones. Hand-colored copper engraving after printing.
