Ascanio Degli Centurio Ortensi (Hortensi), an Italian writer and historian, well-known due to
his literary writings, particularly poetic, describes in his book the wars with the Turks in Hungary and
Transylvania of the 16th century. The first volume's title page contains the following text:

The book binding is made of cardboard covers, wrapped in parchment, with the following title on the book spine: Comentarii
de la guerra Transilvanici. A printed ex libris can be found on the first cover, with the text: "Ex Bibliotheca
F.A. Lib. Bar. ab Ende". The book makes up a colligatum with two other works: Francesco Sansovino,
LA ISTORIA DE GLI IMPERATORI GRECI, Venice, 1562 (4 + 111 sheets) and Idem, HISTORIA
D,AITONE ARMENO DELLE PARTI DI LEVANTE, Venice, 1562 (32 sheets). The first volume of
COMMENTARII DELLA GUERRA DI TRANSILVANIA has 2 sheets + 266 pages + one sheet with an
engraving, and the second volume has 16 sheets + 298 pages. Original volume, maintained whole, drew up by Italian historian Hortensi. Material: cardboard, parchment, paper, textile fibres, printing inks.
Technique: printing, binding, cold-printing.
