Historian and journalist George Bariţiu (1812-1893), president of the Transylvanian Association for Romanian Literature and Culture of the Romanian People (ASTRA), founded in 1878 the newspaper "Observatorul", which he led until 1885. The certificate is completed by him, signed by hand and dated. It is in a very good state of preservation.
