Provençal writer Frederic Mistral (1830-1914), who won the 1904 Nobel Prize in Literature, was the founder and president of the Society of the Félibrige Writers. He had a friendship Vasile Alecsandri who was rewarded by the Félibrige fellows and who presented him to Queen Elizabeth of Romania. The postcard is handwritten, signed and dated.
