The Dutch historian Jacob Gronovius (1645-1716) published this history of Alexander Macedon's expedition to the Orient in 1704. The edition opens with an engraved portrait (copper engraving, author unknown) of the author. On the title page is an ex-libris in purple ink of Colonel D.A. Pappasoglu (1811-1892), historian and cartographer, first author of a scientific synthesis on the history of Bucharest.
